Optician / Certified Optician

Job overview

The Optician / Certified Optician role is onsite in Glenview, IL; compensation is $20–$24 per hour. Big City Optical provides optical products and eye-care services in its communities. The optician helps patients select and receive eyewear suited to their prescriptions and lifestyles, working with optometrists’ recommendations. The role measures, fits, and adjusts eyewear, checks order quality, and supports patient service and store operations.

What you'll do

• Conduct pre-examination assessments
• work with the optometrist on patient vision needs
• help patients select frames and lenses
• measure and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses
• educate patients on lens options
• monitor orders and communicate delays
• assess orders before pickup
• manage inventory
• handle patient records, store operations, insurance billing, and follow-up calls.
