Substance Use Disorder Counselor – Adult Detox

The Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor – Adult Detox role is onsite in Lemon Grove, CA, with hourly pay of $21–$30. The position includes Wednesday–Sunday or Thursday–Monday shifts, 3:30 p.m.–12:00 a.m.; weekend work is required. McAlister Institute is a long-standing part of San Diego’s recovery community. The counselor supports clients’ recovery through individual and group counseling, assessments, individualized treatment planning, and evidence-based, culturally competent, trauma-informed interventions. The role also coordinates with a multidisciplinary team, educates clients and families, and connects clients with community resources.

What you'll do

• Maintain an active caseload and provide individual and group counseling
• conduct screenings and assessments, including ASI and ASAM PCC, and develop individualized treatment plans
• facilitate evidence-based, culturally competent, trauma-informed interventions
• collaborate with social workers, therapists, case managers, and medical professionals
• educate clients and families about recovery and resources
• coordinate referrals.
