The Deli and Prepared Foods Cook role is onsite in Saint Michaels, MD, and pays $18–$21 per hour. The cook supports St. Michaels Market’s deli and expanding prepared foods program. The role focuses on preparing breakfast and lunch items, maintaining food quality and safety, and coordinating with deli staff so orders are completed accurately and on time. As the employee becomes proficient, the position may expand to additional prepared foods such as meals, sides, soups, salads, grab-and-go items, and specials.

What you'll do

• Prepare breakfast sandwiches and other breakfast items
• prepare hot and cold lunch sandwiches based on orders from deli staff
• cook and prepare meats, eggs, proteins, toppings, and other ingredients
• complete daily food preparation and production
• maintain portioning, presentation, and consistency
• keep prep stations clean, organized, and stocked
• follow food temperature, safety, sanitation, recipe, and portion standards
• monitor ingredients and communicate prep or inventory needs
• clean equipment and work areas
• coordinate with the deli team to complete orders accurately and on time.
