The Refrigeration Service Technician, Laboratory Equipment role is onsite in the Baltimore, MD area, with work at customer locations and the company shop. Pay is $28–$38 per hour, depending on experience, plus overtime opportunities. The service team works on specialized equipment supporting medical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and scientific research customers. The technician diagnoses and repairs refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical issues in laboratory equipment, including ultra-low-temperature freezers and centrifuges. The role also performs preventive maintenance, documents service work, and communicates with customers, with training provided on laboratory equipment.

What you'll do

• Diagnose refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical problems
• troubleshoot equipment temperature issues
• perform leak detection and pressure testing
• recover, evacuate, and charge refrigeration systems
• replace compressors and other components
• braze refrigeration piping
• troubleshoot controls and electrical components
• perform preventive maintenance
• diagnose and repair laboratory centrifuges
• complete service reports
• communicate with customers
• perform repairs at customer locations and at the shop.
