Mental Health Technician – Per Diem

Job overview

The Mental Health Technician – Per Diem role is onsite at Adams Clinical’s inpatient research facility in Watertown, MA, and pays $22–$28 per hour. Available shifts are 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m., and 11:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.; weekend or overnight availability from Friday through Sunday is strongly preferred. Adams Clinical conducts clinical trials focused on advancing healthcare and developing medicines. The technician supports participant safety and a therapeutic environment while assisting with clinical trials. The role provides direct care and supervision, documents observations, supports protocol adherence, and assists with basic clinical and laboratory tasks under clinical and research staff guidance.

What you'll do

• Provide therapeutic interaction and verbal de-escalation
• review handoff reports and prepare shift documentation
• conduct and document wellness checks every 15 minutes
• supervise smoke breaks and assist with meals and hygiene routines
• support scheduled activities
• monitor and document medication administration
• maintain orderly rooms and laundry
• assist with admissions, discharges, and orientation
• complete incident reports
• collaborate with research and clinical staff
• take vital signs, collect specimens, perform phlebotomy as needed, and process lab samples per protocol.
