The planner reviews development and land-use applications, advises the public on zoning and subdivision requirements, and contributes to long-range planning and code work. Through technical analysis, public engagement, and coordination with city boards and project teams, the role helps guide development in accordance with city policies and regulations.

What you'll do

• Respond to public inquiries about zoning, subdivision, land use, addressing, and signage
• prepare staff reports and presentations for city boards and commissions
• draft long-range plan policy and zoning ordinances
• analyze land-use applications for compliance with city policy and code
• conduct pre-application meetings and review administratively handled applications
• conduct field inspections and assist with zoning inspections
• participate in development review and public engagement
• support planning commission and board meetings
• participate in the Planner-on-call rotation
• may assist with GIS maps, grants, and other listed planning activities.
