Utility Billing Field Technician

The Utility Billing Field Technician role is onsite in Pearland, TX. Compensation is $17.77–$18.49 per hour, based on qualifications. The position supports the City of Pearland’s Utility Billing Division within the Finance department. The technician completes meter reads and field work orders that support accurate utility billing and service operations. The role also helps customers understand meter readings and troubleshoot usage concerns, while validating account and meter information.

What you'll do

• Perform scheduled water meter reads
• validate meter-reading information for billing
• complete start and stop service, rereads, shutoff, and reconnect work orders
• maintain and replace damaged meters and apparatus
• investigate usage reports and zero-consumption accounts
• meet customers to explain readings and troubleshoot continuous usage
• assist with meter network issues and citywide account validation.
