Evening Mental Health Counselor (Part-Time)

The Evening Mental Health Counselor (Part-Time) role is onsite in Baltimore, MD, for 8–16 hours per week at $50 per hour. The counselor supports students at The SEED School of Maryland, a public college-preparatory boarding school serving grades six through twelve. The role provides counseling, prevention, and intervention during after-school and dormitory hours to support students’ emotional, behavioral, and academic needs. Working with the Student Support team, the counselor helps students build skills and pursue academic persistence and personal goals.

What you'll do

• Provide mental health support during Student Life Program hours, Monday through Thursday between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m.
• provide psychoeducation sessions for identified student cohorts
• support crisis situations, including suicidal ideation, risk to others, or self-harm
• collaborate with the Student Support team and Student Life staff on clinical interventions and student growth
• help develop strategies for emotional, behavioral, and academic functioning
• assist students with academic, career, life-planning, personal, and interpersonal goals
• maintain clinical documentation and submit accurate data
• provide crisis intervention and emergency management as needed
• attend meetings and professional development when schedule permits.
