Assistant Technician

The Assistant Technician role is onsite in Mount Sidney, VA, with compensation of $21 per hour. The position supports Divert’s food analysis and recovery process at its Analytics, Modular, and renewable natural gas facilities. Divert’s mission is to prevent food waste and recover edible food while transforming unsold food into renewable energy. Working under a Lead Technician, the assistant performs preparation, cleaning, light maintenance, and operational tasks that help keep material processing safe and effective. The role contributes to the company’s food recovery and waste-reduction operations.

What you'll do

• Inspect, break down, clean, and stack organic material bins
• maintain a clean and safe work environment and promptly escalate concerns
• operate hand pallet jacks
• assist the Lead Technician with basic preventive maintenance and operational activities
• participate in shift handoff meetings and scheduled training.
