What you'll do

• Prepare the exam room and ultrasound equipment
• perform physician-ordered diagnostic sonography, including 2D and/or 3D exams as applicable
• review orders, medical history, and clinical information
• ensure patient safety and communicate appropriately
• use professional judgment and safe scanning practices
• assist providers with diagnostic procedures
• capture appropriate images and acquire additional imaging as needed
• provide preliminary comments for the interpreting physician
• document exam limitations and incidental findings
• maintain equipment and troubleshoot issues
• use Viewpoint reporting software
• meet quality assurance standards
• assist with department operations, student and new-staff training, and procedure-tool preparation and cleaning.
