The Real Estate Transactional Associate — Community Development Finance role is onsite in Chicago, IL. The salary range is $160,000–$230,000 annually. Direct Counsel is recruiting for an office’s Community Development Finance Practice Group, which represents lenders, investors, and syndicators in real estate financings involving tax credits. The associate supports transactions that finance real estate projects through tax-credit programs. The role contributes by drafting and reviewing financing documents, overseeing title and survey review, and advising clients on transactions involving community development financing.

What you'll do

• Support the Community Development Finance Practice Group
• represent lenders, investors, and syndicators in real estate financings involving low-income housing, historic rehabilitation, new markets, energy, and other state and federal tax credits
• draft senior real-estate-secured loan documents and/or joint-venture agreements
• review title commitments, recorded documents, and surveys and oversee paralegal review.
