What you'll do
- Assess respiratory status by performing focused exams, interpreting breath sounds, and determining the need for respiratory interventions
- Deliver evidence-based therapy by providing oxygen support, aerosolized medications, and airway clearance techniques
- Manage ventilation and airways by initiating and adjusting invasive and noninvasive ventilation, monitoring patient responses, and responding to emergencies
- Support patients and the care team by educating patients and families, serving as a clinical resource, and partnering with physicians and nurses
- Maintain equipment and safety by setting up, operating, and cleaning respiratory equipment and following infection-prevention standards.
