The Sous Chef – Scratch Kitchen role is onsite in Amherst, NH, with compensation of $60,000–$70,000 per year plus a bonus structure. The schedule varies and includes weekends, evenings, and holidays, with 45–55 hours per week. The role reports to the Head Chef and Culinary Operations Manager at an established culinary destination. As a hands-on second-in-command, the sous chef supports menu planning and food production, maintains kitchen standards, and leads staff. The role helps ensure consistent, high-quality dishes and efficient kitchen operations, including stepping in to direct preparation when the Head Chef is away.

What you'll do

• Support menu planning, design, and setup
• produce high-quality dishes
• create weekly specials
• build and delegate daily prep lists and produce orders
• receive and store food orders
• maintain kitchen efficiency and quality
• direct food preparation when needed in place of the Head Chef
• manage and train kitchen staff, set schedules, and assess performance with senior chefs
• enforce sanitation and safety standards.
