Locate Technician

Job overview

The Locate Technician role is onsite in North Chicago, IL, and pays $22 per hour. Compensation is $22 per hour. Stake Center Locating trains technicians to locate underground utilities and help prevent damage in the community. The role exists to identify and mark underground utilities accurately so that work in the community can proceed with reduced risk of utility damage. Technicians use locating equipment and technology, process tickets, interpret maps and blueprints, and communicate with peers, managers, and homeowners.

What you'll do

• Use a laptop to receive, document, and process tickets and email
• read maps and interpret blueprints to plan locating methods and sequence
• use provided equipment and technology to locate underground utilities
• mark locations with paint and flags
• communicate with peers, managers, and homeowners
• prioritize safety.
