Service Manager — Public Safety Vehicle Upfitting

Job overview

The Service Manager role is onsite in Somerville, NJ, in a combination office and shop-floor environment; compensation is $65,000–$70,000 per year. Island Tech Services provides vehicle upfitting and technology solutions for police, fire, EMS, and local government agencies. The manager leads operations, sales alignment, and financial performance for the vehicle upfitting division. The role coordinates production, installation, quality, procurement, and customer relationships to deliver projects on time and within budget while supporting growth and operational improvement.

What you'll do

• Oversee production, scheduling, installation, quality control, and delivery
• establish and track operational KPIs
• ensure builds meet standards and customer specifications
• improve processes and shop efficiency
• manage division P&L, budgets, forecasts, and targets
• lead cross-functional teams
• recruit, train, and retain staff
• align production capacity with sales pipeline
• support customer relationships and bids
• oversee procurement, vendors, inventory, and supply-chain risks
• maintain safety and regulatory compliance.
