This role exists to prepare students for college and foster a long-term love of literacy by teaching a rigorous curriculum focused on reading, writing, and student-led discourse. The teacher will guide students in analyzing texts, developing strong writing skills, and engaging in meaningful discussions.
What you'll do
- Teach a literature curriculum preparing students for AP, SAT, and collegiate coursework.
- Facilitate deep exploration of daily content and analysis of literary and non-narrative texts.
- Develop students' independent and collaborative reading, writing, and discussion skills.
- Facilitate student-led discourse, teaching evidence-based claims and rhetoric analysis.
- Analyze student comprehension and writing regularly.
- Partner with department and grade level teams.
- Meet weekly with principal/coach to analyze student work and assessments.
- Differentiate instruction for all learners.
- Build positive relationships with students and partner with families.
- Engage in professional development, mentorship, and coaching.
- Participate in school-wide meetings.

- Experience
- 1-2 years experience preferred.
