The Counselor role is onsite in Altoona, PA, at a Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center. Pay is $18 per hour. The center’s residential rehabilitation program provides counseling, work therapy, leisure activities, and spiritual direction to residents. The Counselor supports residents seeking help through scheduled individual counseling, crisis counseling, and group sessions. The role also contributes to program operations by recording statistics, assisting with intake, conducting compliance screening, and participating in assigned staff and Salvation Army events.

What you'll do

• Meet with a caseload for biweekly scheduled appointments and provide crisis counseling as needed
• conduct weekly counseling, education, and/or Bible or prayer groups
• record and submit statistical information
• assist with intake
• administer prohibited-substance compliance screening
• attend assigned staff meetings, retreats, conferences, and events.

Why this role
