General Road Maintenance Worker

The General Road Maintenance Worker role is onsite in Mason City, IA, with a starting pay range of $26.13–$30.74 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. The position is with Cerro Gordo County's Secondary Road Department and may be assigned to a maintenance shop in Mason City, Clear Lake, Ventura, Rockwell, Dougherty, or Thornton. The worker performs routine maintenance on the county secondary road system, operates and maintains county equipment, and reports road deficiencies to the Road Foreman. The schedule is normally Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m., with possible summer hours Monday–Thursday, 6:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; overtime and nonstandard hours may be required for weather events and emergencies.

• Perform routine maintenance on the secondary road system
• operate and maintain county equipment
• make minor equipment repairs
• report road deficiencies to the Road Foreman
• assist other county departments or agencies as assigned
• attend schools and seminars as directed
• work nonstandard hours during extreme weather events and emergencies.
