Job overview

The Therapeutic Arts Specialist – Quality of Life Engagement role serves client homes throughout Renton, Kent, Auburn, and Federal Way in Washington, with in-person or virtual services. Compensation is $39–$41 per hour, and the role is 15–20 hours per week, with availability up to 20 hours required. Sage Eldercare Solutions’ Hummingbird Program focuses on older adults’ quality of life alongside quality of care. The specialist assesses clients’ interests and needs, creates individualized quality-of-life plans, and delivers creative activities and services. The role also documents outcomes, communicates with families and care professionals, and contributes to community relationships and team learning.

What you'll do

  • Conduct prospective-client calls and in-home assessments
  • develop and implement individualized Quality of Life Plans and activities
  • update plans as needs change
  • develop group curricula and home-care programming
  • consult with and train personal care assistants
  • document activities and client responses
  • communicate with families and elder-care professionals
  • represent the Hummingbird Project in community and professional forums
  • share best practices with the team.

Why this role

Requires a mental health professional credential or comparable therapeutic arts training and experience, or a bachelor’s degree plus 10 years working with older adults using art and recreation; at least five years working with older adults is required. Client transportation may be part of the role.
