Construction Superintendent — Healthcare and Life Science

The Construction Superintendent — Healthcare and Life Science role is onsite in Sacramento, CA, with pay of $120,000–$170,000 per year. The superintendent supports J&L Builders’ construction projects, with healthcare and/or life science experience required. The role exists to deliver onsite projects within scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements. It coordinates project teams, subcontractors, procurement, schedules, documentation, and field execution across healthcare and life science construction work.

What you'll do

• Plan, schedule, and manage onsite construction projects from inception to completion
• coordinate architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers
• review plans, scope, budgets, schedules, and resources
• monitor progress and safety and address risks
• coordinate procurement
• supervise construction activities
• provide project updates
• lead project meetings
• evaluate performance and implement improvements
• maintain field documentation, permits, as-builts, and regulatory records
• mentor onsite team members and subcontractors
• develop and execute schedules
• coordinate RFIs and submittals.

Why this role

Requires 5+ years as a lead superintendent, healthcare and/or life science experience, TI and ground-up experience, HCAI/OSHPD 1 and 2 project experience, and operating-room construction experience. Travel is within the surrounding Sacramento Valley Region; weekend and shift work may be required depending on project needs.
