Twin Screw Extrusion Operator / Technician

The Twin Screw Extrusion Operator / Technician role is onsite in Shirley, MA. Compensation is $23–$30 per hour. The position supports XPM Plastics Compounding’s production of engineered polymer compounds for industrial and medical applications, as well as new product development. The operator sets up, runs, monitors, and troubleshoots co-rotating twin-screw compounding lines to produce consistent materials safely and efficiently. Working with Engineering, Quality, and Management, the role manages materials and process conditions, performs in-process checks, documents production, and assists with trials and scale-up.

What you'll do

• Set up, start, operate, monitor, and shut down twin-screw extrusion lines
• prepare and load raw materials
• verify material identity, lots, formulations, and batch records
• configure feeders, screws, barrels, dies, and downstream equipment
• adjust process conditions
• perform changeovers, purges, and cleanouts
• operate pelletizing and material-handling equipment
• conduct in-process quality checks
• document production and quality data
• troubleshoot basic process issues
• assist with trials, process development, and scale-up
• maintain a safe, clean work area.
