The cook prepares and serves safe, high-quality meals according to menus and standardized recipes, while maintaining kitchen sanitation and food storage practices. The role also responds to dining-room concerns and coordinates dining services aides to support residents’ meal service.

What you'll do

• Prepare food according to menus and standardized recipes
• ensure proper preparation, portioning, and timely service
• oversee kitchen operations and respond to resident dining-room concerns
• follow sanitation, safety, and cleaning procedures
• clean and store dishes, utensils, equipment, and food areas
• label and date stored food
• handle food to prevent contamination and reduce cost
• suggest menu or recipe changes
• coordinate dining services aides.
