The Special Education Teacher – School Age, Leave Replacement role is onsite in Port Chester, NY, supporting an 8:1:2 elementary classroom in Rye during the 2026–2027 school year. Compensation is $50–$80 per hour, based on services rendered. Family of Kidz supports children with special needs through services focused on building skills, independence, and quality of life. The teacher leads the classroom during the leave replacement, delivering individualized instruction and implementing students’ IEP goals and supports. The role contributes to student progress through classroom planning, progress monitoring, collaboration with families and school professionals, and guidance for classroom staff.

What you'll do

• Lead an 8:1:2 classroom
• develop and deliver differentiated, multisensory instruction aligned with IEPs and curriculum
• implement IEP goals, accommodations, modifications, and behavior plans
• collect and analyze student progress data
• complete progress reports and classroom records
• maintain a safe, structured classroom
• guide classroom staff
• collaborate with families, related service providers, and school teams
• attend CSE meetings and professional development.
