The Program Facilitator, FirstHand™ role is onsite in Philadelphia, PA, with a stated salary range of $54,000–$57,000 per year. The University City Science Center’s FirstHand program provides free, industry-informed STEM experiences for Philadelphia middle and high school students. The facilitator leads and coordinates youth lab programs, supports hands-on STEM learning, and works with educators, mentors, and community partners. The role contributes to program quality by facilitating courses, refining curricula, maintaining partnerships, and supporting program reporting and evaluation.

What you'll do

• Plan, coordinate, and facilitate approximately four to six multi-week youth programs in the FirstHand Lab
• communicate with teachers and school administrators and coordinate transportation
• support classes when not leading
• serve as a contact for school chaperones and youth-serving organizations
• recruit and maintain relationships with STEM mentors
• refine and document industry-relevant curricula
• plan mentor activities
• maintain attendance and volunteer records
• support reporting, evaluation, grant compliance, and program promotion.
