Lead Shelter Monitor

Compensation is $25–$30 per hour. The Lead Shelter Monitor role is onsite in San Francisco, California, with a stated schedule of 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. The role supports Providence Foundation of San Francisco shelter operations and the safety and well-being of shelter guests. The lead coordinates staff and daily shift activities, maintains operational standards, and helps ensure guests receive respectful, efficient service. The position also supports security procedures, supply readiness, accurate reporting, and smooth handoffs between shifts.

What you'll do

• Provide operational direction to shelter staff during assigned shifts
• coordinate staff assignments, coverage, schedules, and breaks
• support staff training
• oversee guest check-ins and visitor protocols
• monitor food service, cleanliness, and supply inventory
• conduct wellness checks and emergency exit inspections
• implement security procedures and respond to incidents
• maintain guest records
• prepare and review daily and weekly reports
• coordinate mail distribution and shift handoffs.
