Mid-Level Fabricator

The Mid-Level Fabricator role is onsite in Charlottesville, VA, on a Monday–Friday schedule. Pay is $23–$26 per hour, with the rate based on experience. Gropen builds custom signage, branded environments, exhibits, and specialty projects for public and commercial settings. The fabricator turns drawings and creative concepts into finished physical products, applying material knowledge and craftsmanship to build quality custom work. The role collaborates with designers and project teams to solve fabrication challenges and support projects from build through assembly and, as needed, installation.

What you'll do

• Fabricate custom signage, displays, exhibits, and architectural elements using metal, wood, acrylic, composites, and other materials
• interpret shop drawings, renderings, and production files
• determine fabrication methods, sequencing, structural integrity, and installation needs
• weld, cut, grind, assemble, finish, and refine components
• operate saws, welders, CNC equipment, routers, and finishing tools safely
• collaborate with designers and project teams
• identify production or installation issues
• support installations and field adjustments as needed
• maintain quality and an organized, safe workspace.
