The Family Housing Solutions Specialist is a hybrid, mobile community-based role serving Allegheny County, PA, with onsite work at Allegheny County Department of Human Services (DHS). Compensation is $24.81 per hour. The position supports families experiencing housing instability through DHS-funded programs and community locations, including Family Support Centers. The specialist helps households navigate housing barriers and pursue stable housing by providing housing searches, application support, referrals, education, and advocacy. The role also equips program staff and participants with housing-resource expertise and builds partnerships that coordinate strengths-based support.

What you'll do

• Assist individuals and families experiencing housing crises
• conduct affordable housing searches and support applications and documentation
• connect participants with rental assistance, utility arrears, security deposits, eviction prevention, homeless services, and housing stabilization programs
• educate participants on tenant rights and lease terms
• mediate landlord-tenant concerns when appropriate
• advocate for households
• build partnerships with housing providers and community organizations
• maintain service records and reports while protecting confidentiality.

Why this role
