Job overview

The Retail Warehouse Associate works onsite in Des Moines, IA, for $20–$22 per hour. The role supports Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity ReStore, a nonprofit home-improvement store and donation center whose sales and donations support affordable housing initiatives. The associate manages inventory and stock movement between ReStores so stores remain supplied and ready to serve customers. The work combines delivery coordination, inventory control, equipment inspections, and safe warehouse operations in support of the organization’s housing mission.

What you'll do

• Coordinate with store managers to transfer goods safely and accurately
• unload, check in, and backstock deliveries
• maintain a safe, clean, organized warehouse and clear pathways
• follow safety regulations and operating policies
• oversee inventory accuracy, replenishment, and product handling
• protect inventory from outside elements
• complete pallet, appliance-recycling, and cardboard runs
• inspect and maintain trucks and forklifts
• train selected individuals on flatbed truck and forklift operation
• price bulk loads, assist with inventory counts, guard against theft and hazards, and supervise volunteers as assigned.
