Job overview

The Maintenance Worker role is onsite at the Miami Rescue Mission administrative office in Miami, FL. Pay is $17 per hour. The Caring Place provides shelter, residential programs, training, education, healthcare, housing, and employment services to people in need in South Florida. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the worker maintains and repairs buildings and grounds, completing assigned work safely and promptly. The role supports the upkeep and safety of the organization’s facilities and may include participation in ministry activities.

What you'll do

• Perform preventive and routine maintenance and building repairs following OSHA guidelines and building codes
• complete minor fixture, plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry repairs
• estimate materials and tools for assigned work
• maintain tools and equipment
• inspect equipment and report malfunctions or supply needs
• assist with facility safety checks, tool inventory, and property improvement planning
• repair parking lots and sidewalks
• may lead or participate in devotions, prayers, or outreach activities.
