What you'll do

• Prepare the operatory with instruments and materials
• assist the dentist during treatment with instruments, materials, retraction, or suction
• sterilize instruments and disinfect the operatory between patients
• schedule dental appointments
• perform laboratory procedures such as mixing denture impression material
• develop and mount routine radiographs
• maintain dental charts and record findings
• follow security rules for keys, sharps, and controlled medications
• follow safety, security, and infection-control practices
• inventory and order supplies
• attend required training and meetings.
