Development Manager – Retail Construction

The Development Manager – Retail Construction role is onsite in Fairfax, VA. Compensation is $145,000–$175,000 per year. A.J. Dwoskin & Associates invests in, develops, and manages real estate throughout Northern Virginia, and this role leads initiatives across its retail portfolio. The manager carries development and redevelopment projects from feasibility through construction, delivery, and stabilization. The role coordinates project partners and internal teams while managing budgets, schedules, quality, risks, and milestones to support the portfolio’s long-term performance.

What you'll do

• Lead retail development and redevelopment projects from feasibility and underwriting through entitlement, design, permitting, construction, delivery, and stabilization
• manage zoning and entitlement processes
• evaluate feasibility and prepare budgets, schedules, and pro forma inputs
• select and manage project partners
• administer contracts, change orders, accounting, and invoice approvals
• oversee capital improvements and tenant/landlord work
• manage project risks, budgets, schedules, quality, and milestones
• partner with leasing, property management, finance, accounting, and executives
• report project status and recommendations to leadership.
