Project Accountant (Construction)

Job overview

The Project Accountant (Construction) role is onsite in Seattle, WA, with pay of $28–$34 per hour. The position supports a commercial construction general contractor as part of its Operational Accounting Team. The accountant manages project-related accounting tasks, with a focus on subcontractor payables and compliance with contractual and company billing requirements. The work supports accurate payment processing and coordination among subcontractors, project managers, analysts, and project teams.

What you'll do

• Review subcontractor applications, lien releases, and supplier affidavits for accuracy and billing requirements
• notify subcontractors of missing or non-compliant billing
• follow up with project managers and subcontractors through payment completion
• process subcontract payments and documents
• verify prevailing wage requirements when applicable
• verify subcontract agreements and change orders
• update accounting systems
• process job cost transfers
• compile monthly owner substantiation
• perform general accounting and administrative duties.
