The Registered Nurse (RN) — Medical-Surgical — Night Shift position is onsite at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. Compensation is up to $60.50 per hour plus H&W. Decypher partners with the Defense Health Agency to support care for service members, veterans, and their families. The medical-surgical RN provides safe, evidence-based care to adult and geriatric patients through assessment, treatment, monitoring, education, and documentation. The role contributes to patient safety and unit readiness through emergency response, interdisciplinary collaboration, quality improvement, and support for unit needs, including floating.

What you'll do

• Assess adult and geriatric patients, recognize changes in condition, develop and implement nursing care plans, administer treatments, and provide patient-centered care
• respond to emergencies and participate in Rapid Response Team and Code Blue events
• administer medications and manage IV therapy, blood products, PCA pumps, epidural infusions, and wound care
• operate specialized medical equipment
• communicate with patients, families, and healthcare teams
• educate patients
• collaborate with providers
• maintain accurate electronic medical records
• support quality improvement and patient safety
• precept new staff
• maintain required certifications and competencies
• adapt to unit needs, including floating.
