The Shipfitter position is onsite in South Point, OH. Pay is $29.00 per hour, and the schedule is first shift, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. CDR General Services is seeking a shipfitter for work in an industrial environment involving ship and barge components. The role fits and assembles structural steel and marine components to drawings and specifications, preparing materials for fabrication and checking completed work for accuracy and quality. It contributes to safe, productive project work by following safety procedures and coordinating with supervisors and teammates.

What you'll do

• Read blueprints, drawings, and shipbuilding specifications
• measure, lay out, fit, and assemble structural steel and marine components
• prepare materials for welding and fabrication
• verify dimensions and fit-up
• operate hand and power tools, grinders, torches, and measuring equipment safely
• inspect work
• maintain a safe, organized work area
• collaborate to meet production schedules.
