Grocery Category Manager

Job overview

The Grocery Category Manager role is onsite in Golden, CO; annual compensation is $80,000–$93,000. The role supports Natural Grocers’ grocery category and store-level purchasing execution. The manager develops assortments, planograms, pricing, and promotional strategies to support category competitiveness and profitability. The role also negotiates with suppliers, manages inventory and promotional execution, and leads purchasing support staff to help stores execute category plans consistently.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain core assortments and schematics, including new, exclusive, and private-label items
• manage product introductions, discontinuations, and store-specific assortments
• coordinate store execution and new store launches
• evaluate products against quality standards
• negotiate supplier costs, programs, and exclusivity opportunities
• manage promotional and new-store ordering
• maintain pricing and inventory levels
• oversee returns, recalls, and credits
• execute promotions and pricing strategies
• address pricing, freight, and promotional discrepancies
• guide stores and internal partners
• hire, coach, and manage two Purchasing Assistants or other support roles
• oversee workflow and conduct performance reviews.
