Roving Building Engineer

Job overview

The Roving Building Engineer role is onsite across Action Property Management’s portfolio properties in the San Francisco East Bay. Compensation is $46–$50 per hour plus a $250 monthly car allowance. Action Property Management provides homeowner association management for communities across the West. The engineer maintains and repairs common areas and building systems across portfolio properties, supervises third-party maintenance work, and supports safe, compliant building operations. Preventive maintenance, inspections, and emergency response help keep properties functioning reliably for residents.

What you'll do

• Maintain and repair building components and systems, including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire monitoring, generators, and building automation
• schedule and supervise vendors
• complete work orders and inspections
• maintain logs, inventory, and preventive maintenance records
• respond to emergencies and service calls
• support budgets, permits, and capital improvement projects.

Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., plus on-call; requires at least four years of maintenance experience, a valid California driver’s license and insurance, EPA/608 Universal License, and Weekly Fire Pump Certification.
