Babies First’s Newborn Hearing Screen Program supports newborn care through mandated hearing screening and parent education. The technician screens newborns for hearing loss before discharge, records results, and explains the importance of screening and early intervention to parents. The role also supports accurate patient data, billing protocols, infant identification, infection control, and hospital and program policies.

What you'll do

• Perform newborn hearing screens
• verify insurance information with parents or guardians
• document results accurately
• follow billing, infant identification, infection-control, and safety protocols
• recognize potential problems and obtain assistance
• complete required orientation and patient privacy training
• maintain employee health requirements.
