Lead HVAC Field Sheet Metal Mechanic

The Lead HVAC Field Sheet Metal Mechanic role is onsite in Houston, TX, with compensation of $32–$34 per hour. Custom Air Products & Services designs, fabricates, installs, and services industrial and commercial HVAC systems. The mechanic plans and performs sheet-metal and HVAC installation and repair while providing field leadership to crew members. The role supports safe, efficient work that meets project specifications, company standards, and applicable codes across commercial and industrial jobsites.

What you'll do

• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications
• plan daily work and coordinate labor, materials, tools, and equipment
• measure, fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork and HVAC components
• determine installation methods and material needs
• inspect completed work
• coach mechanics and apprentices
• monitor productivity and resolve installation challenges
• follow OSHA and company safety requirements
• participate in safety meetings and inspections
• communicate with supervisors, project managers, contractors, and other trades
• complete documentation and timekeeping.
