Enterprise Data Protection Automation and Application Security Engineer

Job overview

The Enterprise Data Protection Automation and Application Security Engineer role is hybrid in Plano, TX, with three onsite days per week, and pays $62–$65 per hour. HireNow Staffing is recruiting for a client partner’s global Data Security and Protection organization; the role is a six-to-12-plus-month contract opportunity with potential extensions. The engineer builds security applications, integrations, and automation to protect enterprise information, improve security operations, and reduce cyber risk. The work combines software development and cybersecurity engineering across data protection platforms, cloud environments, and secure development workflows, in collaboration with security and other cross-functional teams.

What you'll do

• Develop scalable applications, automation, and security tooling for enterprise data protection
• build security-focused software using Python, JavaScript, and an object-oriented language such as Java, C++, or C#
• engineer solutions for DLP, cloud data protection, classification, encryption, and access governance
• develop API integrations and automate KPI and KRI reporting
• support AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud environments
• work with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker
• evaluate vulnerabilities and implement security improvements
• collaborate with Security Operations, Enterprise Architecture, Legal, Privacy, and Platform Engineering
• prepare system design, architecture, technical, and data-flow documentation
• apply secure development practices for authentication, authorization, encryption, hashing, secrets, and credentials.

Why this role

Requires at least four years of relevant experience, hands-on Python and JavaScript, experience with Java, C++, or C#, and enterprise data security technology exposure. Candidates must be local to Plano, work onsite three days weekly, meet the stated U.S. work authorization requirements, and include an active LinkedIn profile. OPT EAD and CPT EAD candidates are not considered.
