The Personal Trainer / Small Group Trainer (Weekends/Evenings) role is onsite in Sherwood, OR. Compensation is $25–$28 per hour. The trainer supports members and the objectives of the Sherwood YMCA, under the Healthy Living Coordinator. The role designs and delivers individualized and small-group fitness programs, assesses clients’ physical conditions, and conducts orientations for youth and adult members. It also supports member safety, maintains client relationships, and promotes other YMCA programs when appropriate.

What you'll do

• Create and deliver training programs for individuals and small groups
• assess clients’ physical conditions
• conduct youth and adult fitness orientations
• prepare lesson plans
• communicate with clients and team members
• support facility organization
• coordinate coverage for client absences
• promote other Y programs as appropriate
• maintain relevant certifications
• offer basic nutrition advice when requested
• observe activities and enforce safety practices.
