Working under the Respiratory Care Medical Director and Department Manager, the therapist provides diagnostic respiratory care and treatment according to physician orders and clinical protocols. Patient assessment, treatment, monitoring, and education support care for people with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders.

What you'll do

• Interview and examine patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders
• consult with physicians about patient conditions and treatment plans
• perform diagnostic tests and provide treatment
• monitor and record patient progress
• teach patients how to take medications and use equipment
• may serve as charge therapist when competent and as needed
• assist with daily operations and patient and staff education.

Why this role

Requires an associate’s degree from an accredited respiratory education program, current South Carolina respiratory care practitioner licensure, current CRT certification, Basic Life Support, and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support. Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation Program credentials are preferred.
