The Surgical Athletic Trainer – Spine role is onsite in Edwards, Vail, and Frisco, CO, with pay of $31–$38.50 per hour. The position supports an orthopedic physician and an operative and non-operative spine care team at Vail-Summit Orthopaedics & Neurosurgery. The trainer assists with clinic assessments, treatment, follow-up care, and first-assist duties in the operating room. The role supports coordinated spine care by preparing patients, documenting evaluations and treatments, assisting with procedures, and providing post-operative instruction.

What you'll do

• Support clinic scheduling and patient flow
• take histories and vital signs, perform initial examinations, and document care
• discuss findings and plans with the physician or PA-C
• carry out prescribed treatments
• prepare patients for in-office procedures
• fit durable medical equipment, apply and remove casts, remove sutures or staples, and provide wound care
• triage patient messages
• assist with surgery setup and act as first assistant, including sterile preparation, retraction, graft preparation, wound closure, and dressing or splint application
• follow infection control and confidentiality requirements.
