The nurse assesses patient concerns by phone, determines appropriate care options, and refers patients to providers or recommends other treatment plans. The role also provides patient education, supports call center representatives, and contributes clinical guidance to patient safety and care delivery.
What you'll do
- Answer patient calls during clinic hours
- assess patient understanding and potential care gaps
- evaluate and triage immediate health concerns, document outcomes, and determine whether emergency care or a provider appointment is needed
- search condition and treatment information
- provide patient advice and education
- train and support call center representatives
- serve as a clinical resource and maintain patient confidentiality.
