What you'll do
- Admit and prepare patients for surgery or procedures
- provide patient and family education
- complete nursing assessments and documentation
- start IV treatments as needed
- monitor postoperative recovery, consciousness, vital signs, and cardiac and respiratory status
- administer ordered medications
- prepare patients for discharge and discharge per orders
- supervise ancillary personnel
- maintain records
- participate in quality improvement and emergency care.
