Substance Abuse Counselor

The Substance Abuse Counselor role is onsite in Columbia, MO, paying $21.00–$24.00 per hour plus a bonus structure. The counselor supports Behavioral Health Group’s mission to help patients recover from addiction and rebuild hope. The role provides counseling and recovery support, develops individualized treatment plans, and connects patients with community resources while maintaining accurate records and responding compassionately to crisis situations.

What you'll do

• Provide individual and group counseling for people recovering from drug and alcohol disorders
• guide new and returning patients through intake and orientation
• connect patients with community resources
• follow up on referrals
• develop and maintain treatment plans and patient records
• assess patients’ social, educational, economic, and vocational needs
• respond to crises and complete required documentation
• comply with regulatory requirements.
