The Nuclear Engineer V, Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) role is onsite in Oak Harbor, OH, with compensation of up to $115 per hour, DOE. System One is seeking a senior engineer to support nuclear power plant modifications, upgrades, and new project initiatives. The engineer leads complex I&C design and provides technical oversight for digital and analog control systems, coordinating with engineering teams, vendors, and plant stakeholders to support project implementation in regulated nuclear facilities.

What you'll do

• Perform engineering and design for plant upgrades and modernization
• develop I&C specifications, design criteria, calculations, and modification packages
• define control architectures, instrumentation, and I/O interfaces
• evaluate digital and analog control strategies against regulations and standards
• review and approve designs and technical documents
• coordinate project execution
• provide technical leadership and mentorship
• support planning, budgets, schedules, scope, and quality
• conduct plant walkdowns and field assessments
• resolve implementation issues.
