Cook — 12-Hour Shifts

Job overview

The Cook role is onsite in Bloomingdale, IL. Pay is $19–$21 per hour. The cook prepares and serves food for a 16-person Intermediate Care Facility in accordance with applicable standards and facility policies. The cook prepares meals and therapeutic foods, maintains portion and food-handling standards, and ensures resident trays are correct. Reliable meal service and safe kitchen practices support residents’ daily care.

What you'll do

• Review menu extensions
• prepare meals, including therapeutic foods, using standardized recipes
• serve appetizing meals and follow portion-control procedures
• ensure resident trays are correct
• use and teach proper food-handling techniques
• clean and store food properly
• assist with receiving supplies
• make and record menu substitutions
• meet meal and snack schedules
• report incidents and hazards
• supervise the Dietary Department when the supervisor is absent.
