Security Officer – Swing Shift

The Security Officer – Swing Shift role is onsite in San Antonio, TX, at $17.21–$18.07 per hour. American GI Forum – National Veterans Outreach Program serves veterans, their families, and other community members in need; this role supports safety at its residential center, which serves a homeless veteran population.

What you'll do

• Maintain facility security protocols and patrol the facility on foot hourly
• monitor CCTV and alarms
• conduct and document fire and emergency drills
• greet and assist residents, guests, and employees
• use crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
• report safety concerns and unusual circumstances
• conduct resident searches and administer and document random urinalysis and breathalyzer tests
• maintain confidentiality and follow security procedures.

Why this role

Requires a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of security experience, an active Texas Level 2 non-commissioned security license, a current Texas driver’s license, reliable transportation, and successful drug and background checks. Prior military experience is preferred.
