The role coordinates research and technology transfer with fermentation, protein chemistry, analytical, regulatory, manufacturing, and business development teams to move optimized strains from the bench toward commercial scale.

What you'll do

• Set scientific priorities and translate corporate objectives into technical milestones
• build, lead, and mentor scientists and research associates
• manage research proposals and projects
• design fungal strain builds and develop molecular, synthetic biology, and gene-editing tools
• lead genotype-to-phenotype discovery
• scale high-throughput screening, automation, and liquid-handling workflows
• apply statistical methods, Design of Experiments, and genomics data
• oversee integration of sequencing, transcriptomics, and metabolic flux analysis
• coordinate cross-functional technology transfer and external technical collaborations.
