The buyer manages procurement execution and supplier operations for strategic defense suppliers, helping ensure material availability, schedule performance, and timely resolution of supplier issues. The role coordinates with engineering, program management, quality, manufacturing, finance, operations, contracts, configuration management, and supplier quality in a regulated aerospace and defense environment.

What you'll do

• Manage procurement activities and purchase-order execution
• monitor supplier delivery, lead times, shortages, and risks
• coordinate supplier recovery and mitigation
• partner with engineering and quality on technical and documentation issues
• negotiate commercial terms
• maintain ERP/MRP purchasing data
• lead sourcing and long-lead planning
• communicate procurement risks
• ensure compliance with applicable requirements
• travel periodically to supplier facilities as needed.
